In this class, students (13 to 14, 15 to 17) learn all aspects of a theatre production -- playwriting, light, sound, and set design, costumes, makeup, stage managing, directing, and of course acting! Ever wonder what it takes to produce a play? In this class, students (13 to 14, 15 to 17) learn all aspects of a theatre production -- playwriting, light, sound, and set design, costumes, makeup, stage managing, directing, and of course acting! This 6-week intensive culminates in a recital of the class' original work that they have created from the ground up.
The class is headed by a professional director and actor who works in the Seattle area, with professional guest artists joining her to talk about their craft. L. Nicol Cabe is currently the Associate Artistic Director for the Eclectic Theater Company. She has directed Week 18 of 365 Days, 365 Plays, the Seattle "re-mier" of Matt & Ben, St. Nicholas, and was the guest director of Fool for Love at Cornish College of the Arts. She received her BA in Theatre (magna cum laude) from the University of South Carolina, and has created theatre workshops for underprivileged children in her hometown of Columbia.
