Internal body cleansing
Posted by Yvette on July 02, 2009
Cleansing your body internally is becoming more important as our environment becomes more polluted and increases the stress on our systems. Cleansing can help you detoxify your body, lose weight, get rid of excess waste and disease, clear your mind and restore your energy and sense of wellbeing. After cleansing, many people report feeling refreshed, being more in tune with their body, and having a new outlook on life. Body Cleansing assist the body's natural detoxification processes by supporting each of the 7 channels of elimination: the lungs, liver, kidneys, colon, skin, lymphatic system and blood.
We can look at cleansing our bodies in the same way as we look at maintaining our cars. If we never checked them, returned them and cleaned or replaced clogged tubes, and continue to drive them they would often break down. When they are care for regularly they will run better. So it is with our bodies as well.
Most illnesses are a result of excess toxins such as physical, mental and emotional unusable materials in the body. Healing is elimination or cleansing of these toxins, and then achieving a balance of intake and output.
Below are four types of cleansings that might work for you:
- 7 Day Cleanse - A deep-acting, total body cleansing program with more concentrated herbal formulas. This cleanse is right for someone with limited time to dedicate to cleansing. The company that makes this herbal formula is Renew Life. You can find it at your local health food store.
- 14 Day First Cleanse - A complete, gentle, internal cleansing program that is perfect for first-time cleansers. Also by Renew Life, you can purchase it at your local health food store.
- The 10 day Master Cleanse - Also known as the lemonade cleanse. This cleanse seems to work wonders and is not very difficult for most people since it gives lots of energy while cleansing. This is also known as the lemonade diet.
- Internal Salt Water Intestinal Cleanse - Good for in between cleansing to keep cleaning maintance in your system until your next cleanse.
Be careful when coming off a major cleanse. Eat foods that are easy on your system and drink a lot of water.

Thanks for posting this.
I've enjoyed the master cleanse in the past, except that I found it hard not to get bored without the act of 'meals' and the interaction of eating and drinking with friends.
Any tips there?

Hi Daryn,
Thanks for reading my article. Unfortunately when you are cleansing you need to stay away from drinking and eating certain foods. I would recommend drinking vegetable broths while you cleanse if you feel you are bored with just drinking the master cleanse. Once your off the cleanse I recommend eating vegetables, salads and foods that aren't too harsh to your system until you get back to your normal eating routine.
