Introduction To Oil Painting Weekend Workshops
This is a workshop for the absolute novice who knows nothing about oil painting. It is also for experienced artists who work in another medium but wish to have foundational experience in oils. The class includes: basics about paint handling, mediums, color, value, composition, and technique. After doing a few painting exercises, each student will paint at least two finished painting to take home. I will paint along with the class so the student can watch how I paint each step before they do. All material and supplies are included in beginning workshops, but wear paint friendly clothes. This is a fun, informative, and exciting workshop, and I am looking forward to see you there!
Cost: $120. All supplies are included.

I recently took a Patrick Howe weekend oil painting workshop, loved it, then continued with an 8-week painting intensive. I haven't oil painted seriously in 25 years and wanted a soup-to-nuts refresher that covered technique, 21st century materials, color theory, value, the works. I got what I was looking for and more.
Patrick is a wonderful teacher, way knowledgeable, accessible, fun, and really knows how to light the sparks of focused creativity in each student regardless of their respective art experience. With his guidance, a rusty painter or beginner becomes an artist over the course of two weekend day sessions and wants to keep going. (That art materials are provided for the workshop is fabulous.)
