This two day comprehensive workshop is designed for the purpose of learning the traditional techniques of the ancient encaustic medium and combining it with more contemporary methods and approaches. Instruction is individualized and intended for the more non-traditional artist who enjoys combining different methods and approaches.

The two-day course will begin a demonstration of the materials and tools of encaustic. Review of Weekend Wax Immersion, August 19, 2009

What can be better than 20 artists, hot wax/pigment, time to create and a great instructor? Nothing! What I really appreciated about the workshop Elise taught was the production time. Elise inherently knows that time doing, is time learning She gaves us the information we needed about encaustic and then let us have at it. It was a day of exploration with a master artist sharing her gift.

Review of Weekend Wax Immersion, June 22, 2009

I had the good pleasure of taking an encaustic painting workshop from Elise Wagner this past weekend. It was exactly what I wanted and expected. She is a very knowledgeable and able workshop teacher. She answered every single question from painting technique to the business side of art. Her demonstrations were very thorough and easy to understand. On top of all that Elise is a very nice person and has no ego. I felt like I was at a old friend's studio, learning about art, not with someone I had just met. I highly recommend Elise Wagner's workshop to anyone interested in learning about encaustic painting.
