What is your best Lifeschool memory?
My first trip when we were at our first campsite.  I got up really early with Josh to fish and watch the sunrise and I caught a fish that morning.  It was really cool because we just sat there by the crystal clear water, knowing I had just done something great.  It was a hard trip and I was just 11 years old.
Which was your favorite trip and why?
 I have had a lot of favorite trips.  I would have to say my most favorite one was my first trip to the Emigrant Wilderness. We spent the night by the lake and that night there was a meteor shower. Just knowing I had climbed to the top of a mountain in the middle of nowhere and was watching these shooting stars that were glowing green, crossing horizon to horizon leaving trails of vapor. With spring and summer just on the horizon, it’s time to start thinking about ventures into the wilderness with your children. A recent article in the New York Times lamented how children are growing up “denatured”: devoid of the wonderful lessons and experiences the natural world has to offer. I am a strong advocate of a “free-range” childhood: a good dose of roaming safely into the wilds is great for a child’s soul.  So let’s talk about safety and few common problems kids may encounter during the summer months.
