The secret of shooting with the perfect form!

Like many of my lessons that I teach, I enjoy breaking down each aspect of the game into easy to learn steps for my players. When it comes to the art of the shot, I break the shot down into five easy to follow steps that help my players for the perfect shooting techniques. The steps are as follows:
#1 Foot position/Squaring up to the basket
- - right handed players should point their right toes to the basket and vice versa for left hand shooters...

Everyone has heard the saying that practice makes perfect. I have a different motto that I go by and that I instill in my players as well, and that is: "Practice doesn't make perfect......the CORRECT practice makes perfect". There are so many different areas of basketball that need to be practiced in order to be a great player and there is a specific way to which these areas of the game must be practiced. I instruct my students with the idea that when we are finished with our lesson that they will practice on their own time the correct way. So I give each student specific tasks to do each week and a number of drills that relate to whatever we may have worked on...

Making the transition from a basketball player to basketball coach isn't an easy one, especially when one's passion for playing the game still burns greatly. My transition came about due to the many injuries that I endured while playing the game in college; from complete dislocations and fractures of ankles to tearing major ligaments...
