  MarieElana is a gifted teacher and dancer, not to mention a great friend! As a former student and member of the Blossoms of the East troupe, I learned so much from MarieElana!! She breaks down moves into easy-to-understand terms and descriptions, making it possible to visualize each movement. She also devotes plenty of time to stretching and practice to help students master each move and commit them to muscle memory.
  The warm and inviting classroom environment MarieElana provides makes women feel safe and free to express themselves. Her students are able to let loose and just enjoy belly dance the way it was originally meant to be enjoyed – as an art for women to share amongst other women. As a performer, MarieElana is charismatic, fun, and absolutely stunning! Her graceful and heart-filled performances inspire her students to experience all facets of belly dance. MarieElana truly dedicates herself to the beauty and poise of belly dance, while facilitating a modern view of this ancient art. MarieElana is, without a doubt, the best teacher!!!!

  Mary Ellen is the best belly dance teacher. First of all she is safety conscious and that is so important in this dance...with many other teachers i have thrown my back and knees out - but not with her she talks about these things and how to do the moves correctly. She is kind and funny too - has a good sense of humor and is patient with those of us who struggle with this dance. Her moves are realistic and reasonable for beginners and intermediates to learn and she gives lots of demonstration. The little dances she gives us are choreographed to be doable and not cause injury. I just like her style its smooth and sexy and realistic. I am a big fan of hers.
