Review of Bellydance Level II (intermediate explorations), July 16, 2008

I love this class, because it challenges dancers at many stages of their dance, and allows dancers to explore many styles of belly dance. Amy is a wonderful teacher--she explains things really well and always has a constructive approach for giving feedback! She never stops being a student herself, so she always has fresh ideas to teach, while maintaining a focus on the basics that always need to be drilled. This is the fastest hour of every week for me!!

Review of Amy Horn, March 15, 2009

I've worked with Amy intermittenly over the past 2 years participating in parades, randomly bumping into her at classes, then finally taking her class, being in her workshops, and simply hanging out with her has been awesome. This is a person with so much charisma, GORGEOUS, and yet is so down to earth/Big Sister-ish it's freakin great that she is also a skilled performer and instructor. I was not able to complete her entire series with Seattle Central, but in that short time I learned how to actually DANCE! Not simply performing move after move with technical precision, but making use of space, spins with precision (I'm top-heavy so this was a goal of mine!), and getting into earthy, gypsy style moxie, all of which is what I feel my dance journey was leading up to. Amy was, and continues to be a phenomenal source to draw from; she offers her palpable energy always and unconditionally. She has even led workshops as a favor to me in which she only made a handful of sngles compared to the info that was offered; how cool and un-diva-like! Excellent/Simply the Best is not too far off a description of Ms. Horn, TAKE HER CLASSES, ESPECIALLY BEGINNERS, YOU WILL SHOCK YOURSELF WITH YOUR PROGRESS.
