Adobe Photoshop: Introduction and Advanced

I do what I love, I love what I do
and I love who I do it with.

These days my focus is on Digital Storytelling using photography, video and the multimedia arts. I am an Adobe Certified Expert and I demo for Adobe, present at conferences and teach courses at the college and university level. I hold a BA degree in film production from Brooks Institute of Photography and a teaching credential from California Community Colleges.

WHERE I'VE BEEN
My professional experience includes over twenty-five years creating photographic and film projects for major corporations, one stock photo CD, and thirteen editions of six travel books.

After earning a BA in film, I worked for 20th Century-Fox as a photo editor in international publicity. Drawn to the excitement of the sound stage, I found myself working nights as 2nd Assistant Director on a variety of well known films including: Planet of the Apes and Butch Cassidy and the Sundance Kid. These formative experiences were the foundation of my film making education. I later spent three years as cinematographer, editor and lighting director for Kenner Toys television commercials.

In the 80's, I sailed throughout the Caribbean and then worked for three years as the director of marketing for a yacht manufacturer. I later established a successful commercial and architectural photography studio in Silicon Valley and did contract work for NASA, AIA, AT&T, IBM, Rolm, Apple, Dataquest and many others.

By the late 80's, I was living in Santa Barbara, California where I specialized in travel photography and authored 4 books on the beauty and lifestyle that is Santa Barbara. In addition, I enjoyed teaching photography, media design and video in several colleges as listed on my Vitae.

Whenever possible, I team up with my sweetheart, Sandy Novak, teaching in the classroom and presenting at trade conferences. We are often invited to demonstrate software and conduct educational workshops at a variety of events as both OEM artists and educational representatives.
