  • "Schedule a session with Laila"

Review of Career Counseling With A Twist, March 06, 2009

Laila saved me at least $60,000 and three years worth of misdirected time and energy. I was able to change course and veer away from an expensive graduate school program and toward the entrepreneurial life I really wanted.

Scheduling sessions with Laila was the best investment I could have made in myself. I moved to a new city, strengthened my relationship with my partner, re-focused my job search and started a new writing project.

Laila is so much more than a career counselor. The nagging question “What am I going to do with my life?” was eating away at my everyday existence, making it difficult to enjoy my time with my family, friends, and especially myself. Laila taught me how to feel the ground under my feet so I could find peace in times of greater uncertainty.

  • "Career Counseling With A Real Twist"

Review of Career Counseling With A Twist, October 28, 2008

Laila Atallah’s resume and interview workshops was one of the most helpful steps I’ve ever taken to equip myself in finding a job. Laila’s helpful tips, tricks, and advice left me feeling prepared and confident- not just with my resume, but with interview techniques as well.
The class taught me personally how to deal with interview styles I’d never even heard of- but then found myself experiencing just a week later- and I got through the interview with flying colors!
Laila’s teaching style was comprehensive, fun, and applicable for everyone regardless of career, skill level, or experience. Through Q&A, demonstrations, and hands on practice, everything from emailing in your cover letter and resume to the actual interview itself was discussed, along with strategies designed to attract a potential employer (a nice change up- I was actually involved in the class, instead of being spoken at for an hour). Even the people at the class were a fun group so I was glad that Laila had already set up the option to swap email addresses and possibly meet up with them in the future- whether to network, or even just for moral support. (Thanks again for that, Laila!)
