Review of Cookwise - Techniques Master Series , February 24, 2009

I really can’t say enough about Sizzleworks and how much I enjoyed taking the Cookwise Techniques Master Series course! Master Chef Carol Dearth is absolutely the best! I can wholeheartedly say that this course taught me more than I ever expected to learn and completely changed my perspective on the joy of cooking!

My initial interest in taking the Cookwise series was to take my current skills to the next level, especially for entertaining and hosting events. Without question the Cookwise course exceeded that goal. Chef Carol made even every-day cooking seem special. Chef Carol’s cooking and her entertaining style is so relaxed, and yet so elegant. As she says it best, “cooking is fun!”

I especially enjoyed how Chef Carol’s instruction strikes the right balance between food science, cooking technique, mastering flavors and pairing with wines, and presentation. Every week I learned something new and useful, about how all the elements work together to enhance the food and the experience. I loved all the tips and ideas for presenting and serving food to make the whole experience memorable.

Chef Carol is wholly unpretentious and shares her knowledge and skills in a comfortable and relaxed way. (Not at all like those uppity TV chefs!) The new Sizzleworks kitchen is state of the art and is a great setting in which to learn and participate in each week’s lessons. Her staff is fun and helpful and they keep everything running smoothly.

The class size was just right to be able to get to know one another and to share in creating meals together. Our class enjoyed cooking and dining together so much that we are already planning a reunion in another course!

My family and friends are all glad that I took this course! We are all enjoying the benefits of Chef Carol’s expertise through the skills I gained there. I look forward to taking many more classes with Chef Carol!

I absolutely recommend you take classes at Sizzleworks!

This was a really fun series at Sizzleworks. I find the hands-on practices very helpful and fun. I think our class really bonded and we all enjoyed Carol's relaxed and informative presentations. I like how she explains the science behind cooking, I understand how
recipes work better now and I try new thing more often with my renewed interest in cooking!
