Chef Madhuparnee Sarkar grew up in India, a country of people with diverse backgrounds and religions living together and celebrating a variety of festivals. These festivals are times to enjoy traditional delicacies that have been passed on through generations. Each Indian festival includes cere-monious food that is awaited all year long. Chef Madhu will help you create special recipes that can become a part of your holiday celebrations.
Potatoes with Poppy and Fragrant Spices; Dal (Lentils with Tomatoes and Spring Onions); Creamy Prawn Curry with Tomatoes and Coconut Milk; Doi Mach (A Delicately Flavored Fish Dish in Yoghurt, a Favorite Dish from Bengal for Special Occasions); Chicken Biriyani (a Festival Rice Dish with Chicken); Mishti Doi (Sweet Fragrant Yoghurt, a Traditional Festival Favorite); and Vermicelli Pudding (Indian Dessert made with Vermicelli, Saffron and Nuts).
