A Touch of Class History
Posted by A Touch of Class on July 28, 2009
Kate Epler began dancing at a very young age. Her technical skills involve tap, ballet, jazz, baton, and belly dancing. She began teaching dance at the Dance Centers in Mt. Penn. After instructing various dance classes for 6 years at that location, Kate took her expertise to share with the Muhlenberg Township Recreation Center. A few years ago, Cumru Township built a new recreation center and Kate contacted them to teach dance at their location.
Kate was a featured twirler for Exeter High School. She began learning her belly dance techniques over 30 years ago. She danced in the Reading, Pottstown, and Pittsburgh areas. Kate was a PA Credit Union Youth Ambassador and represented the state of PA Credit Unions. She also tapped with the "Tap Yourself Silly" ensemble for the former Boscov's Day Parade in Philadelphia. Kate and her classes appeared on Reading's local television marathon.
