Since 1989, NSSD continues to offer modern classes in both traditional modern forms as well as contemporary. Some of the techniques taught include Graham, Cunningham, Limone, and Horton.

The North Shore Repertory Dance Ensemble is a modern/ jazz/ contemporary dance company of NSSD senior students. They perform with professional dance companies on the North Shore.
