Review of Roberto Borrell, January 27, 2009

Dominic and I have been studying Cuban dance and music since 1993 with Cuban Master Roberto Borrell. We have Roberto to thank for the many compliments and inquiries we always receive when we dance; and we have danced our way across Europe, South America and many venues in the US.

My background is as a ballet dancer and teacher and I have studied with some of the world's great ballet masters. Roberto Borrell is one of the most exceptionally gifted teachers I have encountered in my long history of working with the best.

  • "With Roberto you will learn!"

Review of Roberto Borrell, January 26, 2009

No matter how difficult the step, or how two left footed the student, if you really want to learn Cuban and/or Afro-Cuban dance, Roberto Borrell is the man whom you will learn from. Behind the sometimes rough exterior there is a man that really cares about your progress, who will try many different ways to get you to move and dance the right way, the cool way. He is a living encyclopedia of Cuban and Afro-Cuban music, a master of percussion instruments and a dancer of unique elegance and ability. He breaks everything down to the most elemental level and explains it all with clarity as he helps you develop your abilities. Even when things get difficult and you feel like you're not getting it, don't give up, practice diligently, Roberto will find a way to help you get past the sticking point.

Roberto Borrell is more than a friend, he's a brother, and he is also a teacher that makes sure you learn. Because he cares.
