  • "Did not provide what was promised"

Review of Private dog behavior consultations, August 28, 2009

The 2 1/2 hour consultation in my home with Christine was intense and informative. I was told that I would receive, in a day or two, my report. I was also to receive free email and phone support for the life of the dog. It has been nearly three weeks now and I have not received the report nor have I received an answer to the one simple question I emailed Christine. She found time to twitter 29 times in the 10 days following our visit but not to answer my question or send my report. She has cashed my check but I have not received the advertised services of her company. I would not recommend Christine and her company to anyone.

    Teacher's Response:

I'm sorry that you were unhappy with my service Judy, but I must respectfully disagree with your statement that you were not provided with the products and services promised. Whidbey Island is outside my service area but another client had already hired me and agreed to pay my travel charges. When that client canceled, I came out to see you anyway as promised, at no additional charge.

You received a three hour, private behavior consultation for multiple issues, a folder full of instructional handouts, clickers, treat bag, and a 6 page Behavior Modification Report. I spent 3 hours commuting by ferry. When I discovered you had not received your report, I resent your report and also refunded your money. Your consultation required 6 hours of my time and $30 out of pocket expenses. Despite everything, I also mailed a copy of your report to your veterinarian (more time and money spent).

Again, I'm sorry that my services did not meet with your expectations but you did receive everything promised to you and at no cost. I hope that in the end, you will be happier with your wonderful dog's behavior.

    Warmest Regards,

  • "Real Help and Support for Behavior Issues"

Review of Private dog behavior consultations, November 09, 2008

I did a private consultation with Christine for my reactive, dog-aggressive dog. After years of various training classes and supposed experts, I wasn't sure how things would go with yet another person, but I needn't have worried. All of Christine's work is based on sound, scientific behavior modification principles and she is very calm, professional and empathetic. She will work with both ends of the leash on problems and provides tons of support via emails, phone calls if needed, and a comprehensive array of handouts, books, DVDs, etc. She also changed our equipment, and moving my dog to a harness has revolutionized our walks. If you want not only results but a better relationship with your dog, call Christine for a consultation.

  • "Pinehust review"

Review of Private dog behavior consultations, September 01, 2008

While searching online for a trainer for our somewhat noisy dog I came across Christines page and was excited to learn she lived in pinehust. Until I realized her family is the one with the really loud dog.

Christine -- your dog is the best advertisement of your services. You may want to consider training it.

    Sincerely,
    Jim

  • "Home visit and consultation"

Review of Private dog behavior consultations, August 13, 2008

Christine came to my home on a Saturday afternoon with a bundle of positive energy. She attended to my frisky, 95lbs lab mix with the mastery of a professional dog trainer and true dog lover. My big, goofy dog, Boone, loved her and she was able to put me at ease and help me gain some confidence in my ability to train my own dog (Especially the courage to "time him out" for bad behavior). She gave me lots of reading material and encouraged me to contact other resources. She gave me a relaxation tape, a clicker and a feeding pouch (which Boone worships!). His behavior has already started to improve.

I did expect a second person and a few more ammenities for the price, but she offered me email and phone contact on an ongoing basis which is terrific and the opportunity to borrow some of her training tools.

I appreciate her and highly recommend her! Thanks, Christine

    Mollie

  • "Dog Genius in Seattle"

Review of Private dog behavior consultations, April 23, 2008

Christine Hibbard is very well versed in dog behavior and training. She has an impressive list of credentials and I have been very impressed seeing her in action. She has helped me with my service dog and is someone who really cares about animals. She is active in rescue and shelter work as well as having a successful practice as an animal behaviorist and trainer.

You do have to spend time working with your dog. This is not handing over responsibility for your dog's behavior to someone else. She shows you how to work with the issues your dog has and how to teach them gently and effectively. She is available via e mail and phone for questions and issues. Very responsive and responsible and super resources in handouts and equipment are included.
