  • "A gifted educator in our book"

Review of Eric Samse, September 09, 2008

Eric has a special ability to keep students continuously excited and engaged in their drumming without sacrificing rudiments, sticking, and technical skill building exercises which have the potential to become a boring obstacle to the restless teenage student. He has developed a very structured curriculum, but he can also be flexible within his general framework so he can keep it fresh while still moving the student forward. I like that he does not demand absolute perfection in skill A before the student can be introduced to skill B. This is what we experienced at the Seattle Drum School and needless to say my son was ready to quit drumming entirely after 4 excruciatingly boring weeks of skill A and skill A only. With Eric my son has progressed at an amazing pace because he has been allowed to "keep working" on skill A while also working on skill B and C, and D...and as a result he loves drumming more than ever after three + years. How many middle schoolers do you know who come out of a lesson saying "I can't wait to practice" ? I think my son is easily bored and requires quite a bit of customized attention to keep him going. Eric is a truly gifted teacher in our book.

  • "A really Fun Teacher"

Review of Eric Samse, July 23, 2008

Mr. Samse has really helped me improve on drums. He is the type of teacher who will help me with drums, no matter what speed i go. Also he makes it fun and i look forward to going to lessons. Mr.Samse treats me like an person, not like "just a girl in the group of people he teaches." When i come out of lessons i tell my mom that i had a great lesson and I had fun! We joke and laugh and thats one of many things thats great about Mr. Samse! Thank you Mr. Samse!
