Welcome to my TeachStreet page!

Good day!  My name is Lindy, aka The Kitchen Contessa, and I'm so glad you've stopped by my site to check out all the great events happening in my kitchen!

I work with anywhere from 2 to 16 people in my spacious home kitchen. The way it works is you choose a cuisine that you are fond of. Thai, Italian, Indian, Boot Camp Basics, Versatile Vegetarian etc. Then I teach the techniques that are specific to the dishes of the region that you choose. Or, if there is something you've always wanted to learn how to cook, you've come to the right place! For instance I recently worked with 2 gals who are new to the Pacific NW. They wanted to learn to cook some of our bountiful NW seafood, so we made Coconut Shrimp, Risotto Verde, and Flaming Vodka and Sesame Salmon with Parsley Salad. For dessert we whipped up individual Molten Chocolate Baby-cakes! It was SO much fun and the food - MMMmmm absolutely delicious!

So for a little bit about me; I provide hands-on cooking classes for the novice and seasoned cook alike. Along side my grandmother and momma, I learned to cook as a child, and have delighted in cooking and experimenting with food all my life. At the age of 17, I prepared an entire Thanksgiving feast from scratch, for 6 of my closest friends!.

Each recipe we prepare will focus on techniques such as braising, sauteing, flambeing, or roasting, AND you will be taking the recipes home so you can continue to improve on them! Food prep is interactive, tasting is encouraged, and your inner chef is invited to experiment. The best part? Every event ends with a lovely meal prepared by you and your classmates in my gorgeous (view of Mt. Rainier) dining room!

The Scoop:

* Classes have a set price of $50 per person, under 16 years old, $40 (military families receive a 10% discount) payable in advance (no refunds, reschedules only) Cash, check, or credit cards are accepted.
* Everything is provided including fresh ingredients (organic when available), supplies, and recipes (AND the clean-up).
* Classes are limited in size (a minimum of 2 and up to 16) to allow for hands-on instruction.
* Classes are approximately 3-4 hours long and by appointment.
* All skill and age levels are welcome.

Contact me anytime to schedule your very own cooking class!
