I teach traditional old-time fiddle. This music is both beautiful and rockin', originally played for square dances and on the back porches of Appalachia. It is lots of fun and very approachable, whether you have never picked up a fiddle or have been playing the violin since you were five. Learn to play for dances, be in a band, or just play music with friends.
To hear some examples of this kind of music, check out recordings of Tommy Jarrell, Clyde Davenport, the Hammons Family, the Camp Creek Boys and the Foghorn Stringband (a great local old time band).
