I am moving to San Francisco in the summer of 2010 and would like start teaching art classes to youngsters from 6 to 15 yrs. of age.
Do San Francisco parents want to pay for private art lessons after school or on Saturdays?

Thank you Ruth. Do you work for Teach Street? I'm asking because I'd like to know what point of view your answer comes from.

Hi M lynne DeBoer - I am your demographic and many of my peers, including myself have paid for art lessons for children. In the SF area there are many communities that would be worth targeting. A friend of mine at SoManyColors has taught art to toddlers in the garages of some Hillsburough neighborhoods. Pacifica has the Sanchez Art Center where artists offer classes. There are also many indoor play cafes in the area that contract with artists to teach art. Community Centers in every city offer art to children. The Bay Area is a great place for teachers and learners! BEST-

P.S. To answer your question about after school programs, there are several in SF public schools that provide art and most definitely at private schools there are on-site after school art programs. My children attend them. FYI
