Residential coed summer camp
Summer fun with a French accent since 1969. Learn French while enjoying the fun of resident camp on a private island in the San Juan Islands. French is taught at all levels by French and American staff to campers, ages 9-16. Take part in fencing, archery, sailing, kayaking, photography, theater, art, marine biology, and French cuisine during 2- and 3-week sessions. Facilities include a swimming pool, game room, sports field and tennis court.
The French meals, including a 7-course Bon Voyage banquet, are not your average camp fare! With only 45 campers per session and a camper:staff ratio of 3:1, everyone gets individual attention. Airport pick up and drop off. Financial aid available. The whole family can share the fun for 4 days over Memorial Day and Labor Day weekends. This is a good way for youngsters to find out about camp in the milieu of their own family.

Find a little bit of France on a 47 acre private island in the San Juan Islands at this Northwest Washington sleepover summer camp, one of the country's premier French camps. Campers, ages 9-16, take part in a unique mix of French language and culture through artistic and outdoor activities. Fencing, archery, sailing, kayaking, swimming, photography, marine biology, and French culture, cuisine and language are options every day. At Canoe Island French Camp we try to insure that our older campers have opportunities to plan and do activities as a group with staff: sunset campfires on a beach, an off-island trip to Friday Harbor, and one- or two-night sailing and kayaking outings. Tipis are arranged by age and, where possible, French class and French Culture class, too. With only 45 campers on the island, you can choose your own experience - artistic and theatrical, adventuresome and athletic - or any combination. Days are filled with new friends and exciting activities all with a French flair.
