I work with beginning guitarists who have had no past training. I introduce technique, theory, melodic & harmonic playing, as well as sight reading skills. I help students learn to play a melody line in a song as well as learning the chords so they can sing and accompany themselves. I also expect fingering skills with chords and exercises for strengthening the fingers and developing healthy finger, hand, and wrist movement. Classical technique is a part of the regimen for learning about the note names we play in each fret on each string. I love my beginning students. Many grade school children learn to sight reading music charts with the work we do. I work primarily with acoustic guitars. Feel free to contact me with any questions you may have.

Sharon approaches our lessons with vivacity and enthusiasm. She creates a comfortable atmosphere that is open to mistakes, laughter, and learning. Her ability to pinpoint miniscule adjustments to make - her knowledge of the way the body works together - is amazing. As a hip hop artist, Sharon consistently tailors her explanations and lessons to be most useful for what I am trying to achieve. Her vast musical experience has allowed her to help me improve not only as a vocalist, but as a performer and artist as well.

Hi there! I found Sharon Angle on TeachStreet.com when I was looking for voice lessons. I'm at the beginner level and want to learn singing to the professional level. She called me back after I emailed her, she explained how she helps students, and I told her what I wanted to learn, and we had our first lesson which went very well.
First she asked me what I wanted to accomplish in singing, and just started me off with baby step breathing exercises. I didn't have to audition or anything. I didn't feel awkward or uncomfortable because Sharon gave me such a warm welcome and introduced me to singing very gradually. It has been many months already and we have a great time! I always look forward to my lessons!
