I have designed this course to assist students in passing the SAT Subject Test in U.S. History. Therefore, the curriculum is test-centered, rigorous, and as accelerated as necessary for passing this test. In addition, the course is student-centered; the student should bring specific topics for study which might be new or especially challenging.

The focus of this course is based on the fact that many colleges use the Subject Tests for admission, for course placement, and to advise students about course selection. So I want students to have these objectives in mind as the course progresses.

I also offer tutoring for students who would like help in completing school homework and studying for school tests.

IMPORTANT DATES: SAT DATES - In 2008: October 4, November 1, December 6. 2009 Test Dates: January 24, March 14, May 2, June 6.

Bellevue School District: Last day of first semester - January 23, 2009. Last day of school - June 18. These are tentative. The teacher strike will likely cause these to be adjusted.
