Summer Salmon Science Camp

Description

Friends of the Issaquah Salmon Hatchery (FISH) hosts fun and unique summer salmon science day camps beginning July 7 at the historic Issaquah Hatchery. Students will have fun learning all about the salmon life cycle and watershed stewardship as they conduct a water quality and aquatic insect study of Issaquah Creek, perform experiments, go on a nature hike, make arts and crafts, play games, use microscopes, hear Native American legends and more!
Camps are nearly full, so sign up now to reserve your child's spot!
Camps are 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. weekdays for ages 6-8 for the following weeks:
July 7-11
July 14-18
July 28-Aug. 1
Aug. 4-8
The week of July 21-25 is for ages 9-11.

Tuition is $175
Discount is offered for FISH members ($145 for members/FISH student membership is $15).

  My son did this camp last year and loved it. He came home each day eager to talk about something new that he had learned at camp. I was happy that he was exploring science in a hands-on, engaging way. He learned things about salmon that even I didn't know! The teacher has a lot of experience both in environmental education and teaching children. My son's friend (a girl) also enjoyed this camp very much and plans on doing it again this year.
