Beginning Jewelry Making: Total Immersion
What could be more fun than spending a week totally immersed in learning to make jewelry? Absolutely nothing! Spend an exciting five straight days, during the dreariest month of the year doing just that! Together we will tackle the fundamentals of learning to work with precious metal: sawing, disc cutting and dapping, hammer texturing, roll printing, basic forming and finishing, as well as bezel setting stones. In this beginning silversmithing class students will make individualized jewelry pieces including a pin, pendent, ring and a simple linked project. Each night you’ll go home dreaming of what to create the next day, designing in your sleep! This class is an ideal opportunity to explore a wide range of techniques, in a condensed period of time, while creating several projects! Nearly equivalent to three Beginner’s Series classes this class is a great bargain with a total savings of over $200!

I can't imagine taking a more helpful or fun jewelry making class! My 17 year old daughter and I took the class from Dana this summer and had a FANTASTIC time! Dana has the rare ability to teach the proper way of handling and using equipment (and explaining the reasoning behind the rules), while keeping things fun and exciting. She also handles the inevitable mistakes with grace and patience. I would recommend this class to anyone-from total beginners to people with moderate jewelry making experience. Now I plan on doing the mentored independent study. I only wish there were more than 5 stars to give!
