Gems add color, sparkle and interest to jewelry. Bezel setting is the best technique to start with in learning stone setting. Your jewelry will take on a new, richer look when you incorporate gems!
NOTE: There are 2, Bezel Making & Setting classes: Beginning & Advanced
In the "Beginning Class" (5 hours, 1 session) you learn the fundamentals of making and setting gems in bezels for cabochon cut stones. You'll make several bezels for round & oval stones using fine silver and sterling. You'll learn about the range of tools jewelry makers use in producing bezels. You make a special tool for setting bezels plus learn a hammer setting technique to make your bezels super tight around all types / shapes of gems. As you progress to the advanced class more complex bezel making & setting is done allowing you to master this jewelry skill. Dress up your jewelry with bezel set gems, You’ll like the new look!
In the "Advanced Class" (8 hours over 2 sessions) you'll create bezels for faceted stones and learn how to "roller coaster" 'cab style' bezels for added interest. You'll learn how to make bezels that rest on curved, vs. flat surfaces. I'll demonstrate how to "weld" bezels vs. soldering them as a way to eliminate the seam line. You'll learn how to make ‘quarter’ and ‘half bezel’ settings for a different look, how to set heavy-wall bezels, how to make exact shape, (matched pairs) of bezels for earrings, etc., and how to add a special "professional" finishing touch to any bezel that will make it shine! This class is information filled and includes tips I've learned over 39 years of jewelry making.

Review of Richard Paille, October 28, 2009
Richard is incredibly knowledible about jewelry, the tools needed and how to order them. He carefully taught me all that I had asked for and much much more. His workshop is neat, clean and well equiped. We shared a very enjoyable time together and yet every moment was filled with useful information. He continued to teach even while we ate our lunch.
