Jewelry Technician

The Academy’s Jewelry Technician (JT) Program has been designed to give you all of the essential skills to make jewelry. The Jewelry Technician Program consists of 11 classes. Whether you plan to seek employment, create your own jewelry, or just want professional-level training, this program is the right place to start. Graduates receive a Jewelry Technician Diploma and may prepare for certification as a Jewelers of America (JA) Bench Jeweler Technician (optional).

The Jewelry Technician Program can be completed two ways. You can take classes individually, at your own pace, during one or more Open Sessions. Or as an alternative, for those who want total immersion, the 8-week JT Intensive is ideal.

We offer over 40 different classes in a wide range of subjects for those interested in making jewelry. Classes last from 1 day to 8 weeks in subjects like Fabrication (we offer 6 levels), Stone Setting (4 levels), Gemology (2 classes), Design, Rendering, Mold Making, Wax Modeling, Metalsmithing, Keum-boo, Granulation, Polishing and much more. All classes are taught by professional working jewelers with lots of experience teaching their skills to others.

We offer several different diploma programs, lasting 6 weeks to 3 months.
• The 8-week Jewelry Technician Intensive is taught by Alan Revere and includes the material from our first 11 classes.
• Individual classes for the Jewelry Technician Diploma can be taken in the Open Sessions.
• Graduate Jeweler requirements can be met by taking the 8-week intensive and then the remaining classes in the Open Session, or by taking all classes in the Open Session. Open Sessions include all of the classes to meet course requirement for our diplomas.
