This 4-hour class will cover important pearl topics about Freshwater & Saltwater pearls like buying and selling, technical information plus 'Myths & Truths.'

I’ll demonstrate the pearl making process (Making Black Pearls) see the Richard Paille Jewelry website for photos. In class you'll learn how-to grade, price and best display pearls. We’ll talk about pearl farming, natural pearls, enhanced pearls & imitations and how to care for pearls. We’ll discuss classic pearl strand lengths, modern trends and the best pearl values in today’s marketplace.

If you already use pearls in your jewelry designs this class will add to your knowledge and to your customer’s confidence (in you) allowing you to "talk about pearls with confidence.” For non jewelers you’re in for a treat on how beautiful pearls can be. Learn what to look for when pearl shopping and maybe, like I did, get hooked on this 'Ocean Gem.'

Pearls have been a part of my jewelry business for 40 years. My involvement in pearl farming in the South Pacific opened many doors for me in the jewelry business. I’d like to share this passion with you. Pearl farmers say, "they talk to oysters" ...in class you'll hear the oysters' story!
