  A perfect fit for me, truly a unique teacher. She has a
  strong classical base from which she teaches but blends that with new
  techniques like singing and improvisation. Her teaching focused on strong
  fundamentals and brought in the artistic side of piano and music. I thank
  Paula for exposing me to artists and music that were new and fascinating
  to me. And you can't help but be influenced and impressed by Paula's own
  professional music endeavors.

  Paula was my daughter's piano teacher for three years, beginning when my daughter was 8 years old.

  Paula's teaching method incorporates many aspects of the fundamentals of making music: active listening, harmony, vocalization, and understanding that a song is much more than simply a collection of notes to be played in a certain order. I have found that many piano teachers focus almost exclusively on the mechanics of playing notes on the piano, and neglect the rich aspects of music that make it compelling, therapeutic, and fun. Because Paula is a composer and performer, she offers a unique perspective on making music that few teachers can match. Paula is a classically-trained pianist, so she recognizes the importance of proper technique and knowledge of music theory, but she also understands that the joy of making music is derived from a personal, emotional involvement in the music.

  Paula's approach offered my daughter an outstanding introduction to the piano. I believe Paula fostered in my daughter an intellectual appreciation and strong emotional attachment to music that will always be with her.
