Encouraging, laid-back atmosphere for students to work on music that they are interested in and at the same time deepen their understanding of theory and technique.
With guitar students I use a wide variety of texts and songs depending on the student's focus . I have worked with series by Aaron Shearer, Mel Bay and Robert Benedict. Music ranges from artists like Sergio Mendez to Neil Young to Smashing Pumpkins and Green Day.
With vocal student's I also use a combination of songs that they want to learn as well as songs that further challenge vocalists to expand technically. Songs range from Mozart to Ella Fitzgerald to Paul Simon and Hannah Montana.

Originally from Littleton, Colorado, Kim moved to Los Angeles to dedicate her life to music. Kim has over 28 years playing and composing experience. She received her bachelors in Music
Education and Voice from Colorado State University and also an Associates degree in guitar from Musician's Institute in Hollywood,CA. Kim has independently produced and released 3 albums with her band Vertigo Road. She has been regularly playing the LA music circuit for the last 14 years. Kim's recent projects include composing and recording original pieces for the documentary- Faire: an american renaissance as well as working on new songs for her band's 4th album. She is currently working with students in the Los Angeles area as well as the non profit music organization Project MuszEd.
