Lynnwood, WA

Subject: Piano

My students journey to the World of Music starts with fun. They will play Chop-sticks and "Rhapsody" by List from the very first lessons. Gradually and smoothly lessons will become serious. Always students can chose their preferred repertoire. If someone likes competitions and festivals you are welcome, we have them.

My name is Viktoriya Otto, and I have been teaching piano for over 40 years.

I received a bachelor's and master's degrees in piano teaching, chamber ensemble soloist, and accompanist in the state conservatory of Ukraine.

I taught in the music school of Donetsk, Ukraine for twenty-five years, and was the head of their piano department. I moved to the United States in 1997, became a member of the Music Teachers' National Association, and have been teaching in the greater Seattle area since.

I do not only teach piano, but I also perform as a pianist. I worked as an accompanist at the Shoreline Unitarian Universalist Church for five years. In 2004, I began working for the Our Lady of Perpetual Help Catholic Church as a musician. I've also worked with their choir, who have recorded several CDs on which I am featured playing piano solos.
I currently teach about 30 students, and host two student recitals every year.

My students participate in many state-wide festivals, recitals, and competitions including the annual Sonata-Sonatina Festival in Ellensburg, the annual Grieg Recitals, and the October Bach Competition. Some of my students have received awards from the festivals and competitions in which they have participated.
