You're On the Air. . .How to Really Make it in Voice-Overs
Voice-overs are hot today! You don’t have to be an actor to get voice-over work, but it certainly doesn’t hurt! With such notable talent as James Earl Jones, Linda Hunt, and Donald Sutherland lending their voices to commercials, films, and videos, one would think that it would be next to impossible to break into this field. Not so! In this class you’ll learn about an exciting new way to get around the competition and actually turn voice-overs into a thriving full or part-time business!

Lisa Foster’s broadcasting and voice career spans 15 years and began in Sacramento, CA as the weekend traffic reporter on Rush Limbaugh’s flagship station, KFBK in 1991. She handled traffic reporting duties for various Sacramento radio stations until 1992.
Lisa moved to Seattle, WA in 1992 and began reporting traffic for Metro Networks. She was the traffic reporter that Seattle commuters relied upon on more than 14 different Seattle market radio and TV stations. She started really learning the radio ropes on Pat Cashman’s Morning Show on KING 1090 as his traffic reporter.
Lisa created more than 6 different “personas” on other stations in the early 90’s, including “Kendall Elliott” on 107.7 The END, “Danielle Clark” on KJR, “Lisa Hunter” on 97.3 KBSG, and ”Christine Russell” on KISW. She teamed up with Cashman in 1996 to co-host his morning talk radio show on 100.7 The BUZZ, and again on KOMO AM 1000. Most recently, she co-hosted morning drive’s “The Mitch & Lisa Show” on KLSY’s MIX 92.5.
Lisa Foster has done numerous voice-over projects for local and national companies, including CD games, commercial work, and comedy bits, not to mention several TV appearances. You may very well have heard her on air representing Crest Toothpaste, Olay, Cafe Appassionato, LA Weightloss, Advanced Laser Clinics, Sleep Train, and much more!
