Review of Serrada Escrima, May 15, 2009
I have had the pleasure of knowing "Stickman" Jeff Finders for about 2 years. I have always enjoyed his ability to explain Eskrima and to do this in a way that I would undestand. Many people can do something well, but being able to teach someone else is, a talent all its own. Aside from this, I have always enjoyed Jeff's company, his antecdotes, and insights into lifes challenges.
I highly recommend the "Stickman" to anyone interested learning the stick arts.
Sincerly, Travis.

Review of Serrada Escrima, April 30, 2009
Escrima sticks are fast-moving hard objects and if you want to study them, you want a careful and observant teacher. Jeff Finder is both.
He's equally good with beginning and advanced students, communicating and demonstrating what each student needs to learn to improve, in every lesson.
When I was a complete (and clumsy) beginner, I noticed that Guro Jeff was focusing on and pointing out to me the things I was doing right, and making sure that I knew I had done them correctly, and that I repeated them correctly.
Later on, he would pick out finer points that helped me improve -- a small change in the way I positioned one foot at a certain part of a movement, for example, that changed my body mechanics for not only that particular movement but entire sequences of movements leading into it and following from it, so that I found myself flowing naturally from one into the next.
I've watched him do the same thing with other students. He really knows this art, and he really knows how to teach it.
