Bowenwork Module 1
From
Body Restoration Clinic
Subject: Santa Clara Massage Classes
Ages: 18 to 100 year olds
You will learn a comprehensive health system that will enable you to aid the recovery from a large range of internal and musculoskeletal conditions and balance the total body system.
In this first level class, students learn the Core Procedures (or Basic Relaxation Moves) consisting of Lower Back, Upper and Mid-Back, Neck and Shoulders, plus the Kidney Procedure. This forms the foundation of Bowenwork and can be used to help clients immediately, addressing nearly 70% of their complaints. The Core Procedures set up a vibrational wave or frequency in the body that stimulates a whole brain response, awakening the original "blueprint" pattern of wellness and helps the body re-establish balance. Each Module contains verbal instruction, but consists primarily of hands-on training
WHAT IS BOWENWORK?
Bowenwork is a unique form of body work that involves gentle, powerful, movements on muscle and connective tissue that initiates a healing response in the body, making changes on the structural level. These movements trigger soft tissue release and send neurological impulses to the brain. These impulses stimulate whole brain responses, addressing every system in the body- including internal organs and the musculo-skeletal structure. Healing occurs through affecting the autonomic nervous system, creating homeostasis at the cellular level.
By selecting an appropriate combination and sequence of moves, the practitioner can balance the body as a whole and target specific problem areas in the same session. During a session, a pause or rest is inserted between each set of moves, allowing the brain to process and send messages to realign the body. It is thought that by stimulating the whole brain, the original genetic pattern (or blueprint) of the body is re-awakened, releasing recent injury and compensation patterns, even years after the original injury. Bowenwork also addresses tension held deep within the body.
Bowenwork is appropriate for infants, the elderly, people with fibromyalgia, competitive athletes and even people with recent surgeries or injuries. Bowenwork may be done through clothing and even enables the practitioner to work with more than one client at a time. Students do not have to have any previous medical or wellness training to learn Bowenwork.
