This workshop will focus on the cultivation of fearless receptivity as the heart of true service. We will explore ways of awakening from the trance of unworthiness, opening to our body and cultivating compassion for ourselves and others. We will engage in discussion and practices that help us to reduce our tendency toward self-criticism and judgment of others and discover ways of enlivening our capacity for curiosity.
Each individual's death is unlike any other. And, the constellation of circumstances surrounding a person's dying are equally unique. There are no formulas to give caregivers, no techniques that apply to every situation. The nature of this relationship is characterized by constant change. Yet, we will find that the above qualities are essential in both caring for the dying and in living a full, loving and wise life.
Frank will draw on both traditional Buddhist practices and his 20 years of experience in accompanying the dying. He will help us learn how caring can be a natural expression of our basic humanity and goodness.
