Matchsticks 3: Pretty Prongs (Advanced Workshop)
6-Hour Workshop
$45 materials fee
Prerequisite: Any Fusing and Matchstick Workshops

Organic in sensasbility, these prong settings are an excellent way to capture and embellish stones, beach glass, coins etc... Once students understand the basic concept, they can re-size their technique to accomodate larger and smaller pieces. Because of time limitations, it is imperitive that students are skilled in fusing and have had a Matchstick (or similar) workshop under their belt. Exclusive alloy alternative fusing will be demonstrated. Students are asked to bring their favorite pieces to set. All other mateirals, handouts and use of tools are included in the materials fee paid to the instructor.

  • "Take a class!!"

Review of Iris Sandkuhler, May 02, 2009

What you learn is really all up to the instructor. I have taken many jewelry classes in the Bay area and Iris is the best! Iris not only teaches you technique and gives you inspiration, she educates you on the "safety" issues, which shouldn't be overlooked. Iris is able to teach all skill levels in one class, giving each student personal attention to ensure you get the most from her class. I highly recommend any of her classes and know that you will keep going back for more, like I have. Thank you Iris!

I took Iris' classes at City College of SF. She is absolutely one of the great teachers I've known! I would definitely love to take her classes again in the future. T. Fujimura
