Metal Shaping and Dent Repair Class by John Kelly

My 2009/2010 metal shaping and dent repair class schedule is for the weekends of November 21, 22, December 19, 20, and January 9, and 10. Class size is from 1-4 people because of small shop size. Each person will have their own suite with a kitchen, ocean view, WiFi, and Direct HDTV with multiple movie and sports channels. We have a hot tub, and an extensive video library. You may stay either 1 or 2 nights for the same cost. If you live close by and do not wish to stay overnight, there is a reduction in price of $83.47. If you prefer a one on one class, I can schedule one on short notice of a few days when we have vacant weekends approaching.

Each class will cover simple methods of metal shaping and dent repair using inexpensive and homemade tools; shot bags, and mallets hammers/dollies, shrinking disc, as well as the english wheel.

Discussion and demonstrations of various methods of stretching, shrinking, smoothing, and bending or rolling sheet metal, to achieve a desired shape. How to make flanges in curved surfaces by hand and control the contours of the part.

Hands on training in tuck shrinking, hammer and dolly, and the english wheel. A shrinking disc demonstration. The class goes for about 4-6 hours depending on how many people are attending.

The cost is $383.55, and includes a free metal shaping video (your choice of tuck shrinking or custom metal bodywork) to take home with you. If you want to bring your family for a short vacation at the beach, let me know how many people and if you will be bringing a dog. Each extra person is $11.30. Dog: $22.60 First come, first served! Check in is anytime after 3pm on Friday night (or arrive Saturday morning). Check out is noon on Sunday.

We are located in Moclips, Wa. on the coast, about 3 hours from Seattle.

Please pick a weekend, and if possible a second weekend in case your first choice is full up. Also, let me know if you are willing to share our largest suite with one other person. There are separate sleeping areas and a discount of $33.90 for each person.

There are nearby places to eat, or you can bring your own food and cook in our fully equipped kitchens. There are fresh coffee beans, a grinder and coffee maker in each suite.

Please bring hearing protection, eye protection, and gloves. I have ear plugs available if needed.
