Ear Training for Jazz - Level One

• Learn to recognize notes, intervals, rhythms & chords

Student Requirements
This class is for students learning jazz improvisation who know, or are learning note names, intervals, chord construction (see Jazz Harmony - Level One), rhythmic unit names and beginning notation skills.

Students supply 12-stave manuscript notebook and pencil.

Homework
Homework is comprised of ear training exercises (materials and drills are available online) and transcription work. The more time students invest, the greater their gains.

Cost: $160 for eight-week session - classes meet one hour weekly.

All ages welcome!

Level One classes build skill and knowledge foundations. People with a head start may be comfortable moving to the next level after one eight week session, others will find it helpful to study longer at Level One.

    I have taken 4 classes at jazz night school and they all have been great.

    the class is well run and Erik is a excellent instructor.

    I highly recommend these classes, it's low stress and a lot of fun.
