If you are bored with band and need a challenge; if you are tired of getting drowned out by the brass and reeds; if you are interested in playing with a group of talented flutists, join the Marylhurst Flute Choir! This group is open to all intermediate and advanced high school flute players. We play a variety of music from Baroque to modern, in 3 parts to as many at 10, oftentimes with one to a part.
In this group, we spend a lot of time on intonation, blending, and good technique. It's practical education for the flutist, as well as fun.

Review of LeeAnn Sterling, April 29, 2009
LeeAnn came to me as a doctoral student at the U. of O. already a fine player. She had much experience, but was very open to new ideas. She soon became one of the strongest members in my class, worked very well with others, and agreed to became my T. A.
As a muscian LeeAnn is first rate.
As a teacher LeeAnn is one of the very best.

Review of LeeAnn Sterling, April 29, 2009
I have been taking lessons with LeeAnn for the past few years at Marylhurst University where I am finishing a bachelors degree in music performance. I'd have to confess to being overly sensitive to who I let in to my musical world, I'm very glad I finally let her in as my instructor. Not only does she exhibit masterful technique and a warm & spirited tone on the instrument, but she has proved to be an extremely resilient iinstructor, weathering the storms of my musical passion and opinionated moments, and staying consistently present with support and positive reinforcement. As an advancing adult player I feel she did a great job of supporting my musical development, helping to refine the rough edges of my technique, and meeting me on the level of artistry, helping me to wrought out all of my potential for individual expressiveness on the instrument.
She complimented her technical feedback with anecdotal stories drawn from her own undergrad and graduate studies, and professional performing experience.I have been taking lessons with LeeAnn for the past few years at Marylhurst University where I am finishing a bachelors degree in music performance.
