Is your child involved in an orchestra? Having trouble sight-reading, shifting into higher positions, counting, tone production, etc? I can tutor them in technique, sight-reading, ear-training, music theory, scales, arpeggios and tips for better performance. This can be fun! This Fall I have many openings for students with these needs -but my schedule is not flexible and I want a *commitment. I have often helped those who are participating in various school orchestras, Capital Area Youth Symphony, SOGO.
We diversify with fiddle tunes from celtic, bluegrass and swing tunes on the side...

If a student is only going to take a few lessons and not sign up for the monthly plan the fee is $50 per hour lesson. However the monthly plan offers more benefits and is $45 per lesson: $90 per month.

I am a professional improvising violinist, trained in classical violin at Northwestern University. I also am well-acquainted with a variety of fiddle styles. This year I will also help students who need tutoring to become a stronger participant in school orchestra. I have been teaching in the Olympia area since 1984 and now operate out of a spacious private studio in rural NE Olympia in which I offer private lessons on Tuesdays, Wednesdays, and Thursdays.
