Introduction to Mountaineering - (class room based)

Interested in exploring the towering glaciated landscape of the Pacific Northwest? Do you want to go deeper into the vast wild areas of the North Cascades? This course is designed to help you begin the journey into the world of mountaineering, and help you understand the skills needed to travel in glaciated terrain. Topics include equipment & clothing, meal preparation, navigation, mountain hazards, climbing styles and ethics, glacier rigging and travel, and basic first aid. Please note this class is only in lecture format and does not give you the experience needed to travel in the mountains. An optional 3 day summit climb is intended after the class (see summit climb schedule).

3 class sessions - 8 hours of instruction
