STAR Puppy Program (Monday 6:30-7:30pm)
Beginning level for young dogs (4-6 months)
Focus on how to best communicate with your puppy. In classes aimed at earning the AKC S.T.A.R. Puppy distinction, you will be able to get information on all of your puppy-raising questions including housetraining, chewing, and the most effective way to teach practical skills such as coming when called. Good Manners Dog Class (Monday 7:45-8:45pm)
Beginning level for dogs 6 months or older.
Dogs learn basic good manners such as polite greeting, walking on leash and commands (e.g., sit, down, come, leave it, etc.).

Canine Good Citizens (Tuesday 6:30-7:30pm)
Intermediate level class prepares dogs for CGC certification

“Perfect Pittie” (Tuesday 7:45-8:45pm)
Specialty class for pit bulls 5 months or older
Goal is to help owners of pit bulls understand breed characteristics and how to get the best out of their bully buddy. Focus is on teaching self control and appropriate behavior.

Carol A. Siegrist, CPDT
Carol Siegrist has been working with dogs and cats for more than 20 years as an owner, trainer. She is a Certified Professional Dog Trainer (CPDT). Her company "Siegrist LLC -Dog Training & Consultation", is dedicated to fostering effective communication between animals and their owners. In addition to her private practice, Carol remains dedicated supporting shelter and rescue animals by offering her training and shelter experience in a number of ways to help train staff and volunteers to work with ther animals and prepare them for good homes. Carol also offers pet owners who adopt from shelters and rescues significant discounts on her private training services.
In addition to her CPDT certification, Carol holds a BSEd from Temple University as well as MLS and MBA degrees from Drexel University. Carol lives in Center City Philadelphia with her husband and her two special-needs dogs, Hazel a GS mix and Pumpkin an AmStaff mix.
