I am a piano teacher with lots of energy and enthusiasm, and years of experience working with children. Over the past six years I have taught over 50 students of all different ages and ability levels! I teach lessons in all styles (classical, jazz, pop) and lessons are customized to meet each individual students personal needs in a fun and relaxed atmosphere!
Each spring I hold a piano recital at a senior home (which works great because the students get to perform and do community service at the same time). Students also have the opportunity to use my home studio on a regular basis to record their music, make CD's for gifts and auditions, and map their progress! Lessons also can include ear-training, music theory, composition!
I am currently accepting students of all levels! Lessons take place at my Greenlake home. Plenty of references and samples of my music available as well! First lesson is free.

For kids to learn I believe that 50% of the success rate is if the kids like the teacher and have a good experience. That is why Joy is so successful with our two girls. They love Joy and are learning piano at the same time. She is perfect for teaching kids. Not only is she fun and approachable for the kids, but she is also very goal orientated, and makes sure that the kids keep on track. Our two 6 year olds have been taking lessons from Joy for one and half years, and we are so thankful to have found the right teacher from the beginning.

I found Joy on Craig's List two years ago and have been seeing her weekly since. Both my little girls take lessons from her and love her. She's very gentle, soft spoken yet goofy, which they love. I can't recommend her enough!
