The Pettijohn Piano Studio was founded in 2006 with the desire to offer a comprehensive approach to quality musical education in a fun, non-competitive environment for children and adults. Here, creativity and improvisation go hand in hand with technique and piano performance. Whether studying jazz or classical, a beginning student or advanced, each student’s musicianship develops through ear training, sight reading, music theory and composition. And, this year, the studio is introducing ensemble classes. Well developed ensemble skills allow children to do what comes naturally to them, come together and "play."
Expanding the opportunity to come together to play, The Pettijohn Piano Studio, also offers Musikgarten classes for babies and toddlers. Musikgarten, a preeminent early childhood music education company, has designed a music and movement curriculum for children that is both fun and developmentally beneficial. These weekly classes offer musical play activities that:
-Develop listening skills and sense of beat.
-Establish a foundationn for singing and musical thought.
-Stimulate the brain.
-Foster physical coordination.
-Help you form a closer bond with your child.
Jeffrey will be offering two classes this Fall:
Family Music for Babies
Family Music for Toddlers
