I enjoy talking with and hearing about your interest in starting in piano lessons. I hope to have the opportunity to meet you. We begin with an informal interview/audition, when we meet each other. I also do an evaluation of the perspective student’s ear and manner by having them listen to and answer some simple [age appropriate] questions about what I have played. I have them sing some short unfamiliar tunes that they have heard me play, and also clap some rhythms that I have clapped. I’ll also show you a typical set of books, review the importance of practicing, and also answer any questions you may have.
My lessons include a well rounded combination of repertory, theory, ear training, technique, and sightreading, and I inspire and teach my students in a patient and friendly manner. Besides our regular recitals here in my studio, several different programs are available to my students through the Music Teachers’ Association, and the National Federation of Music Clubs. Each year I consistently have students selected to perform on the San Francisco Honors Recital. Visit rongipsonpiano.com and HEAR sample music.

Review of Ronald Gipson, December 11, 2008
Those who "can't do, teach"? Not Ron Gipson. He is a certified virtuoso whose teaching talent is just as deep and gifted. He knows how to work with students (such as my daughter) to bring out the best. Highly recommended.
