Super Fun Character Creation & Story Development
Leader: Brie Spangler
A class for young artists interested in combining the craft of visual storytelling and character creation. How do you tell a story without words that still has meaning? Is it about how your character looks or is it how they act? And when we have them speak, incorporating their words into the scene we’re drawing. As creators we will focus on crafting a character from scratch and work on what makes them special. Are they big or shy? Do they have any powers? We will draw on our imaginations to make a really cool character capable of supporting a story. Then we will think about how our character interacts within a scenario as described by the teacher. An individual and collaborative class where kids can develop a vehicle of their very own and then come together with their classmates to share in telling a short one page story.
