First let me explain a little about my musical background. I have played the guitar since I was 9 years old. At age 14 I began appearing regularly on local live Radio and TV shows on the affiliates of CBS (KOIN) and ABC (KATU) as a guest soloist all during high school.

During college I appeared locally on stage as the lead guitarist in traveling shows with Glen Campbell, Buck Owens, Sherri Lewis, Burl Ives, and other shows including the Ice Capades orchestra, Rose Festival Concert orchestra and others. I also was hired at times as a studio musician to record music for TV and radio commercials.

The summer I graduated from PSU I appeared with Della Reese for two weeks at the grand opening of the GreenWood Inn. I also had a full load of guitar and banjo students and I worked full time at Portland Music Company for several years.

In the late 70’s I used my education and transitioned into the “hi-tech” marketing jobs, climbing the corporate ladder at companies like Tektronix, Hewlett-Packard and others -- leaving my music behind.

After 18 years of that I went into business for myself, running an ad agency for 9 years and then getting my real estate license in 1999.
The nice thing about my work in real estate is the ability to make my own decisions as to how to spend my time. I have been fortunate enough to be able to make a good living in real estate with time left over to again pursue my love for music.

For the last 8 years I have been studying the violin with Hugh Ewart, the retired CONCERTMASTER of the Oregon Symphony.

My in home recording studio includes a 32 track digital recording platform, a digital drum machine, a full set of Hart Dynamics electronic drums and a guitar synthesizer that allows me to create almost any instrument or voice sound with a special guitar plugged into it that drives the synthesizer.

I play, record and teach ALL styles of guitar (acoustic, electric and classical), mandolin, violin, bass and 5-string banjo.

My dream is to get some record producer somehwere to "discover" me and help me launch a recording career like George Benson, Earl Klugh and Larry Carlton have enjoyed..... as there are not that many good instrumental guitarists producing albums these days with "listenable music" for "adults".

You can order any of my CD's for $10 plus $3 shipping/handling to anywhere in the U.S. Just email me for a list of my CD's and the song lists on each to make your selection(s).

Review of Guitar Lessons - Electric/Acoustic ALL Styles and Levels, July 27, 2009

I have been taking guitar lessons with Tim for over six months. Believe me, I am not one of those 'natural ability' people and my practice time has been a struggle. Tim has corrected bad habits that I've acquired learning on my own, is teaching me a solid foundation, and has passed on "tricks of the trade" to make playing easier that I could never have learned from a book. Lessons are very focused.

In the past, I tried lessons with a couple other instructors that local guitar shops recommended but now I see they clearly did not have Tim's skills. By the way, I found Tim from an Internet search while looking for a banjo instructor for my husband. We didn't really know much about him except what the ad said and he sounded knowledgeable on the phone. Well, we sure made the right move. You can trust that Tim is a true professional instructor.
