Sandy Shipley is a counselor, teacher and speaker and officiant who facilitates self discovery and personal growth. Through her Oregon based firm, SAGE Creative™, she provides strategies and support for successful living. Through experiential workshops and seminars she draws out participants' innate wisdom and creativity. As a counselor, coach and spiritual mentor, she is both challenging and compassionate.
Sandy creates ceremonies and rituals honoring life's transitions and traditions from beginning to end with Baby Blessings, Weddings, Home and Business Blessings, Memorials and more.
Sandy's own journey began as a longtime resident of Hawaii where she was introduced to Huna (Hawaiian spirituality) and Eastern philosophies. This path of exploration led to a career change from retail management to ministry. She is heard to quip, "I left the ‘rag business' to become a ‘woman of the cloth'!" After serving as Assistant Minister in Honolulu, she followed her dream becoming pastor of Westside Church in Lake Oswego, Oregon. After a successful 10 year pastorate, she returned to college.
Sandy received the Service-to-Community Scholarship from Portland Community College and the Phil & Penny Knight Scholarship through Marylhurst University, She graduated in 2000 with an Interdisciplinary Degree integrating psychology and spirituality. She is listed in Who's Who in American Colleges and Universities.
Sandy is on the adjunct faculties of Portland Community College, New West Seminary and the Holmes Institute. Her family includes husband David J. Shipley, ND, two grown sons and five grandchildren.
