Ganeshe's Playhouse

A full two hour "gathering" of yoga play and fun. 6:00 start time and finish at 8:00 and it will be like the playground rules if you need to leave early to get home....it's totally allowed. The cost is donation. I totally understand the economic climate. There is no reason why we can't come together and have amazing yoga together.

This is how it will work.....

1) Each Monday there will be a focus or two on a particular group of asanas.
2) We will explore these asanas inside out! Alignment, benefits, breath connection, and there will be storytime in relation to our yoga during savasana. We will play with postures in many different ways i.e.; in relation to gravity, breath, dynamic, static, props and propless and more.
3) You will get your questions answered or at least explored. I imagine our group will be small enough that all your questions at this time will be answered and not only by myself, but by others in the group!
4) Sharing. You will have the opportunity to share your thoughts and experiences and sometime your fears and confusions around certain asanas. This is a great way to shift from the cognitive cusp to the realize experience.
5) Intention. All of this "play" helps us away from our mat in the world of others. We learn to navigate from a deeper more authentic place. I believe not only are we shaping our breath and bodies we are shaping our intentions as well.

I imagine this class to be like a mini workshop full of surprises. Guaranteed to amp up your practice.

What will you need?

1) Your ideas, questions, fears, confusions...............yay! How often are those required???
2) A little courage in the way of sharing. This is not your ordinary yoga class. I want to "hear" you and what your needing. I also value your opinions and experience. They are so important. I have learned so much from each of you! I know others will.
3) The attitude of play!

  • "Sharon is the best yoga teacher EVER!"

Review of Sharon Hanson, April 03, 2009

Sharon is just the right mix of physical and mental challenge, creativity and flow (and I have been to a LOT of yoga). Her classes are very creative; she does a fantastic job of integrating moves into new sequences and never leaving you bored or unchallenged. I am a total Sharon groupie: my week just isn't the same without her.

I have been a dedicated yogini since 1991 and has been teaching for 13 years. My background includes teacher certification from the International Sivananda Yoga Vedenta Centre, Diane Wilson of Portland Oregon and completion of teacher training with Ana Forrest of California and world-renowned teachers Angela Farmer and Victor Van Kooten.

I design my classes to honor each student and the group as a whole by drawing upon my experience and knowledge of yoga, which is deeply rooted in the Raja tradition—the Eightfold Path. I skillfully choreograph each class with postures to develop core strength, flexibility, and purification for the muscles, skeleton, and visceral body. I incorporate classical breath work to facilitate purification and energy. Most of all, I advocate inward focus and intention to create discipline of the mind, leading to change and empowerment. Om Shanti, Shanti, Shanti, Om Peace, Peace, Peace!
