Demonstration and explanation of the different mosaic techniques from the Roman and Byzantine with the use of clay, marble or glass chips (tesserae) to Henry Mercer technique of exploding an image, thus creating large pieces of clay grouted together to recreate the image in a mosaic form. In this class you will learn to make a map of your own design (or design of your choice) and transfer it into clay, glaze your pieces and finally set and grout your mosaic.
